The New P90X Has Arrived, Say Hello to the P90X PLUS

After taking the exercise world by storm, the P90X program is now ready to be superseded by another extreme fitness program that is more intense, the P90X Plus.

P90X Plus

Basically, the P90X Plus is an extremely intense extension to the P90X fitness program.
According to its blurbs, it promises to increase your strength and fitness to another extreme level.

One caveat: the P90X Plus is designed exclusively only for those who have completed Tony Horton’s P90X program.

For P90X graduates only

The new and extremely intense workout P90X Plus is specially designed for those who had completed the P90X program and are now ready for the next level. Those who have not done or completed the P90X fitness program are discouraged to try.

As with any other exercise program, it is a good policy to first check with your doctor before starting the P90X Plus workout.

So What’s new?

The P90X Plus, as per their manufacturers, takes your fitness and strength to the next level by offering a well-rounded routine that again targets your entire body. There will be five new workouts that will be part of the routine designed to work on specific body areas – cardio, muscles and abs/core.

The new routines

The five routines of P90X Plus will provide a more effective cardio workout by bringing your heart rate up and down with three different speeds. This will give the most dramatic body changes in the shortest time period.

The new cardio has new moves to build stamina and balance. The total body, with emphasis on the upper body, will be exposed to extremely intense moves to get the corresponding muscles pumped up.

The abs/core will also be exposed as well. There will be four different positions that are way more advanced. They are designed to give you a stronger core.

Tony Horton will be there to give his own brand of coaching style, one that keeps you motivated to keep going even when you feel like stopping.

The sets are longer, but the time is compressed. The music, designed by Chicago’s Jason Scheff is very motivational. (Ask anybody who does exercise with music.) It can truly guide you to do the last repetitions even when you start to get tired.

Some Recommendations

The new P90X Plus is highly recommended to all P90X fitness enthusiasts who are now ready to go to the next level. As promised, the moves and cardio are more intense, offering you more challenges and giving you chances to be surprised at what lengths your body can go into.

The many bonuses you can receive are also very helpful. You can receive a fitness guide that will help integrate the new P90X Plus workout into your P90X training program. (Of course, the online community is there to lend help and keep you motivated.)

A Word of Caution

One important reminder worth repeating – this fitness program is NOT for beginners. It is necessary that you have completed the P90X first. This is to ensure that your body is ready to handle the intensity of this new fitness program.

What’s Needed with the P90X

It’s Simple to Get Started With P90X System

The home training system P90X is a revolutionary workout program containing 12 sweat-inducing, muscle-pumping workouts designed to transform your body from a regular guy into a ripped one in just 90 days.

P90X System

Your personal trainer and the developer of the workout program Tony Horton shall be with you and keep you engaged every step of the way.

The system also contains a comprehensive 3-phase nutrition plan, specially designed supplement options, a detailed fitness guide, a calendar to track your progress, online peer support and so much more.

The P90X system’s secret is an advanced training technique called “muscle confusion”. It is a technique that accelerates the results by constantly introducing new moves and routines that “confuse” the muscle groups and keep on building up instead of levelling into a plateau.

If you want to bulk up, get lean by losing weight, or just plain want to get ripped, there is an endless variety of ways to mix and match the P90X routines. Not only would it make you a new exercise routine, it shall keep you motivated as well for the next 90 days.

Aside from the total package of training materials, the following equipments and materials (including food and supplements) are what you need to get started with P90X training and weight-loss system.

The Pull-up chin bar is necessary equipment for routines that specify some pull ups/chin ups.  Some fitness companies have them at around $25 plus shipping. It can mount to any size door.

A yoga mat is needed for yoga routines, Ab Ripper X, and some other workouts. A poor mat can hurt your tailbone while squatting on the hard floor.

The yoga blocks help keep your balance while holding certain poses.

Dumbbells and resistance bands

Resistance bands can be used in place of dumbbells all throughout the P90X workout program.

Heart rate monitor/body fat tester/push-up stand

This is for gauging the intensity and your progress on your workouts. These equipments are available in most sporting goods store.

Body fat tester can give an accurate reading of your body fat all throughout the program.
The stands take all the pressure off your wrists.

Food supplements

There are several supplements needed by the body right after the exercises and at certain times of the day when you need them most.

The P90X Recovery Drink was designed to provide the precise nutrients to achieve maximum results from your P90X workouts. The key to success in P9X exercises is in proper post workout nutrition.

You would also need 6 pills daily of P90X Health Formula Vitamins. It has immune support, and support for energy, cardiovascular, memory and nerves, anti-aging and anti-stress as well as for skin, hair and nails.

Because P90X demands so much from your body, you need to fill yourself up with enough protein.  Protein is a key part in your first 30 days doing P90X. The best protein source is Whey Protein Powder.

The P90X Nutrition Guide calls for performance bars during the first 60 days of your exercise program. You can find some flavor you like from specialty food stores.
